We are delighted to welcome Ashis Mondal of Action for Social Advancement (ASA) to our Board of Trustees. He will join a recently expanded OCA Board that includes established players across the supply chain. Mr Mondal, Founder Director at Action for Social Advancement (ASA) joins our Board with over three decades of experience in the development of livelihoods for smallholders through natural resource management, including sustainable agriculture and promotion of smallholders’ organisation for agribusiness. He has served as member in several national and international advisory committees including the National Advisory Council, Government of India.

 

Speaking on his appointment to the OCA Board, Ashis says:

‘I consider that OCA has its job cut out for it in the organic cotton sector building transparency and confidence among the stakeholders. I feel obliged to do my bit in this journey. Having spent my entire career working with the small farmers as part of the civil society organisation i look forward to bringing in the grassroots issues on the table for discussion. I am truly humbled to be considered for this important work.’
