Move the market
Join a community of committed organisations across the value chain, from field to fashion, all working to build a healthy and resilient organic cotton sector.
When organisations join OCA, they become Contributors and part of the OCA Platform, a global collective that unites key players across the organic cotton supply chain around a shared mission. Together, we challenge business as usual by empowering farmers, increasing the global supply of organic cotton, and creating the conditions for long-term, systemic change in the textile sector.
Working with OCA helps Contributors secure supply, increase transparency, and demonstrate measurable impact. It also provides access to a trusted network that supports sustainability goals while contributing to a more resilient and responsible cotton industry.
OCA Contributors share the belief that scaling organic cotton requires a shift from individual action to collective investment. By working together, we can move beyond competitive advantage and align around a common agenda for positive change.

OCA acts as a catalyst for change. It creates the conditions for organic cotton to thrive; it convenes the sector around a common agenda, it improves farmer prosperity and it bolsters the integrity of the organic cotton sector.
The OCA platform receives funding from grants and from OCA’s Contributors through an annual Contributor fee. In addition, participating Contributors in the Farm Programme fund their own farm projects.
Get in touch with us and apply. OCA Contributor applications are reviewed by OCA staff and the Board of Trustees. OCA undertakes a thorough analysis of each application to ensure all criteria are met. Once approved, prospective Contributors must pay a fee and sign a Contributor Agreement giving them access to the OCA Platform. The entire process can take up to three months.
The OCA Platform brings together those who grow, process, supply, and sell products made of organic cotton. Through the Platform, we convene stakeholders throughout the sector around a common agenda to create the conditions for organic cotton to thrive and this is how we’re catalysing change. OCA’s Contributors are at the heart of this community sharing our belief in the Organic Cotton Effect. They know that for organic cotton to deliver a positive impact at scale, we need to shift from competitive advantage toa common agenda, from individual action to collective investment.
OCA’s investments are overseen and led by a Board of Trustees representing the different stakeholder groups within the organic cotton and apparel sector. OCA’s Board of Trustees sets and stewards the organisation’s long-term strategic vision and direction, priorities and policies, and provides ultimate financial oversight. OCA also relies on input, directional guidance, and tactical execution support from its broader community of Contributor stakeholders (brands and retailers, manufacturers, traders, farmer organisations, philanthropy, civil society, and research institutes) and ad-hoc Task Forces, which are created as relevant to achieve specific objectives to further OCA’s mission.
In our last farming season of 2022-2023, OCA connected our Brands & Retailers’ Contributors with around 80,000 farmers, which committed more than 90,000 hectares of farmland to organic cotton. Join OCA today and be part of a purpose-driven alliance committed to enhancing your organisation’s sustainability efforts and growth. Together, we can drive impactful change by reshaping organic cotton.
As the organic cotton sector continues to grow, collaboration across the value chain becomes increasingly important. By joining OCA, organisations can play an active role in scaling responsible sourcing models that support farmers, protect ecosystems, and strengthen supply chain resilience.
