The Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA) is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Communications Intern to join our team in Amsterdam!

This internship is your chance to gain hands-on experience in communications, learn from experts in the field, and contribute to meaningful change in the organic cotton and sustainable fashion sectors.

About OCA

The Organic Cotton Accelerator is a global organisation driving transparency, sustainability, and growth in the organic cotton sector. Since 2016, we have been working alongside farmers, brands, and supply chain partners to create meaningful impact, enhance farmer livelihoods, and accelerate organic cotton production. Operating in India, Pakistan, and Türkiye, we collaborate with a network of 60 organisations dedicated to fostering lasting change.

What you’ll do

As a Communications Intern, you’ll work closely with our Global Communications team based in Amsterdam and New Delhi. Your main goal? To help amplify OCA’s voice, strengthen our community, and showcase the powerful stories that define our mission.

Content creation

  • Assist in end-to-end content development: from pitching and research to execution and publication.
  • Write, edit, and proofread engaging copy for OCA’s website, newsletters, and social media.
  • Support with basic graphic design projects.

Event support

  • Support event management efforts: assist with planning and coordination of key OCA events, including conferences, stakeholder meetings and workshops.
  • Contribute to the design and development of promotional assets, such as banners, brochures, digital invites, and branded presentations.
  • Help set up webinars and virtual meetings: assist with the platform setup (Zoom, Teams etc), help manage Q&A or chat moderation and provide other types of support.

Social media and PR monitoring

  • Support the team in managing OCA’s social media channels with daily community engagement and monthly performance reporting.
  • Monitor press coverage and assist in preparing press reports using tools like Meltwater.
What we’re looking for
  • You are currently enrolled in a university, studying communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • You have strong digital communication abilities, excellent writing skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • You are proficient with in Microsoft 365, Google Workplace, Canva, and WordPress. Graphic design experience is a bonus.
  • You are organised, self-motivated, and passionate about sustainability.
  • You are a native or near-native English speaker with excellent writing skills (a writing test will be part of the process).
